Considering which country the Trump team was colluding with, maybe Stalin and communism are not the smartest choice of analogy.

Stalin did not try, he just had people shot or hauled off to the Gulag. Here and now you get a trial, then the verdict.

No, Stalin would have said, "The guys who are accusing Manafort and Gates--get something on them. Anything. Make something up if you have to. Then, give them a show trial, just for looks, and find them guilty. Then execute them." And his will would be done. Why? Because Stalin paid no attention to the USSR's Constitution.

The Stalinist USSR's approach was a long way from America's investigation and due process system. Does America really want a Stalinist approach? From a famous 20th century Communist:

Quote:
Stalin acted not through persuasion, explanation, and patient cooperation with people, but by imposing his concepts and demanding absolute submission to his opinion. Whoever opposed this concept or tried to prove his viewpoint, and the correctness of his position, was doomed to removal from the leading collective and to subsequent moral and physical annihilation....
That's from Nikita Khrushchev's "Secret Speech" of 1956 (cite) to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union's 20th Party Congress.

Again, does America really want to go there? No investigations, no due process, just have the Leader say what's going to happen to the allegedly-guilty parties? That's a Stalin-esque system that would be used to silence opponents; and bears no resemblance to the process America uses today. Which follows the US Constitution and is fair to all.

Seems about right to me. Clinton was impeached after 2 years or more of digging by Star , and his impeachment was unrelated to white water, it had nothing to do with it at all. yet still Repubs were fine with that..

so hard luck it might be twenty years later but karma gonna get ya.

The STOLEN SCOTUS seat gonna cost you guys later too..
As soon as order is restored to the country and democrats are in control, they will pick out several very young and healthy people to fill in the seats on the Supreme Court. That will be a just reward for the obstruction the Republicans inflicted on our country, all through Obama's presidency.

He squeezed you first. He did give you a chance to change, or spill the beans on the plan.

It's nice to see that the RWNJ's haven't lost their touch. I was starting to get bored with the endless Trump = Nazi and gestapo references but you dug up Stalin to equally absurd effect.

Congrats, #29.

Except these guys have been indicted by a grand jury, will have the best attorneys money can buy, and will be tried by a jury.

Yes, no more proof needed, it is a witch hunt.
Show me a man, I will find you a crime - right out of the Communist playbook, to squeeze political opponents. When that didn't work, they just had you killed.
This must be the latest meme.

Stalin would have dragged them out in the middle of the night and killed them.

These guys will be tried and afforded all their rights under the Constitution.
