Actually, the rich need the good schools less than anyone else because they can usually buy their way into college. However, it's useless talking to people who think money entitles them to everything.
You do realize that you come off as pretty self righteous yourself with posts like this right?

And then we have this: "Actually, the rich need the good schools less than anyone else because they can usually buy their way into college."

Maybe this sort of comment works for all the people out there who hate wealthy people, but too me it's a pretty prejudicial and backwards statement. It's akin to saying things like all white people look the same or all Muslims are terrorists. You are basically just lumping every person with more money than you into this group in your mind that can just buy anything and care about nothing. And that essentially makes your comment no better than the OP's. Yours is simply the same thing on the opposite side of the spectrum.

And you think that there is no way to create wealth that does not rely on owning resources such as land or water

Why should poor children be punished for their parents' lack of prosperity? For most of the African-Americans, their ancestors did "immigrate" to this country to work for the benefit of everyone else's children. Or do you maintain that they came here voluntarily?

Why shouldn't the children of the poor get the same quality of education as the wealthiest children in the country?

Sure on paper you can create as much wealth as want in the real world resource limitations prevent that.

Common Core is a scam, and it deprives the children from wealthy areas from getting the education they deserve for the money their parents are paying.
In Nevada all school districts are County wide and actually part of the state government with respect to financing. There is no equalization involved. Poor performing schools get a little more money - but not a lot. Some states have trouble with Constitutional requirements that they provide an education which the courts have held means they must educate all to some reasonable level...hence equalization.

Nothing about common core is a scam. It is simply a compilation of what children should be expected to learn. Any significant money making opportunities like books and testing are controlled by the state or the local school boards. There is nothing that keeps a local from exceeding the common core requirements.

Poor children do get the same quality of education as wealthy children. Now, whether they actually value that education is a different story.

If you actually believe that you are stunningly naive.

That is of course quite absurd. Even within a district the quality of education varies by large amounts. Just the quality of the student body guarantees that.

Some high schools if you show up regularly you will pass if you bother to do some work you will get an A. American education is very unequal.
