A gun that can shoot 50 times a minute isn't as dangerous as one that can shoot 10 times?
I know some hunters. None of them uses an AR-15 for hunting. They might own them but not for hunting.
I'm thinking you are taking a guess at those numbers. Also, take a look at the rate of fire that someone can attain with a revolver , you might be surprised.
You apparently don't know anyone who hunts hogs or coyotes, then. AR-15s are popular for hogs, and excellent for coyote hunting.
We were talking about deer hunting over in the Maryland forum awhile back and I mentioned being required to use a shotgun where the questioner was going to hunt. One of the other regulars said that "No, you hunt deer with a rifle".
That's true in his part of the state but not in mine. He didn't know that there is a large Shotgun Only zone in the state encompassing several Counties.
Same thing as "I know people who hunt and they don't use an AR". He just doesn't know the right people.
You could confiscate every gun in the country and the nut jobs would use other forms of deadly force.
The nutjobs and criminals would still have guns! Only the law abiding people would turn them in.. All of the mass shootings are in gun free zones, and it is illegal to have guns there...yet they do. It's illegal to murder, yet they do.
Making an AR featureless makes it all legal from any ban yet it only looks different. Still shoots the same. They first banned them by name, so Companies simply renamed them. Then they banned them by feature. So we modified them and were still able to buy them even when "banned". Bans are useless and stupid.
Or you may leave all of the existing so called "evil" features and simply drop the magazine when the 2 receivers are separated. Many have gone this route.
I did not elect to register mine or make the necessary modifications. I simply move them to a free state.

50 times a minute is nothing for a semi-auto of any type. The problem is keeping that on-target at a high rate of fire.
Some states don't allow a .223/5.56mm round for deer hunting. Maybe for varmints. But ARs (both the AR-15 and AR-10) are chambered in many rounds, all the way up to a .50BMG.
I have an idea! These gun crime's seem to be caused by angry people. What if we legalized prostitution? I figure it would be better for such people to turn to a prostitute than a gun. Right?

So, for those who think a shotgun is not as deadly as a AR-15, load one of these into a drum or clip fed shotgun, I'd rather be shot by a .223!
