But I want to say something else, too. Over the last few months, all of us—including and especially men who respect women—have been forced to take a good, hard look at our own actions and think(perhaps, shamefully, for the first time) about how those actions have affected women.
If Franken had spent months taking a good, hard look at how his actions had affected women, why did it take photographic evidence and an accusation for him to forward? Why did he come forward during his "months of good, hard looking"?
Could you imagine the example that it would have set had he proactively reached out to the lady he offended and apologized to her? That would be leadership.
Admitting the crime when your hand is in the cookie jar is not noble, and likely moreso regret for getting caught than regret of his actions.
I looked at the picture and it sure looks like a joke to me...Franken was a comedian and still is long before a senator. He's a pretty smart guy.
I guess he just isn't smart enough.
With all the crap he has spouted about Trump before and after the election it doesn't matter if it's a joke.
That's worse than the "locker room talk" he gave Trump so much crap about.
What he's doing in that photo is that locker room talk in action.
Not just talk.
No excuses.
How would you feel if that was your sister, daughter, wife or even you?
Would you still give him a pass because he's a "comedian"?
Would you still find it funny?
IMHO, that's very crude low brow locker room humor.
Would you find it funny if Nancy Pelosi or Hillary Clinton was photographed grabbing the crotch of a sleeping man with an idiotic look on her face?
What kind of excuses would you dream up for them if that happened?
What a two faced twit.
I hope he gets everything that's coming to him.
A hypocrite like that deserves the worst.

They're about the same on the hypocrisy meter. I have more of a problem with your scenario because murder takes it to a whole new level of immorality.
I wouldn't go that far. Tim Murphy was having affairs while in Congress and was literally encouraging women to get abortions while telling other people they could not. It was as "do as I say, not as I do" as you could possibly get.
Franken has been a champion of reproductive rights (as are most Democrats in Congress), but I wouldn't call him a hypocrite. Hypocrisy, as I understand it, is saying one thing while doing something else. This applies to Roy Moore because he was Mr. Christian Superman and simultaneously picking up underage girls in the mall. I would not say it applies to Franken since he was not preaching the sanctity of the female body in Congress after having groped some woman up the night before. Now if such evidence comes to light, then yes, I would brand him a hypocrite.
