There is a California forum. In fact there is one for every state.

Calif. gas tax just went up a additional 12 cents a gallon and car registration went up $25 to $175 depending on car value. Under the guise of fixing the roads but everyone knows its going to public employee unions. This hits poor people the hardest naturally.

I just heard something about a petition going around related to the repeal of the gas tax. Haven't checked it out. Listen to KFI-AM 640 the John and Ken show. They stay on top of this stuff.

Trust me, the Union will hurt a lot more if CA leaves than if NC does. When it comes to bringing in the GDP $ to the US economy, California owns you like a little *****.

California has been the poorest state in the nation under the vastly more sophisticated “supplemental” poverty measure since the alternative statistic was created (Mississippi is poorest under the old measure). It’s not even really that close: Florida has the second highest rate, at 18.7 percent.

The problem with that idea, is that few of the more intelligent people who come here, would bother with it. The California-bashing trolls go where they can get the most negative reactions to their nonsense.

One nice thing about California, is the great fresh produce you can buy, for much of the year. Small farmers or those who buy fruit and vegetables from them, bring in truckloads and park at gas stations or vacant lots and sell it much cheaper (and fresher) than you get at stores. And so many people have citrus and avocado trees in their yards. Almost everyone would know someone, who had such an abundance of it, that they were glad to give it away.

It's not bashing anyplace. The topic of this board is "politics and other controversies". I think showing that CA has the highest percent of poor people is a controversy and worthy of discussion. If you don't, then move on.
