I can just imagine what the campaign would have been like had he been the nominee and I don't want to think about what we would be facing if he were president. The good thing I guess is, I doubt any of his ideas would actually fly. His mouth isn't as out of control as Trumps like you say. otherwise give me Trump 100 times over.

Renegotiate NAFTA: Nope
Renegotiate our trade situation with China: Nope
Get our troops out of the ME: Nope
Deal with NK: Nope
Drain the Swamp: Nope
The list goes on and on but finding any real accomplishments is a real challenge, care to fill us in. Oh appointing a cabinet, especially one where people come and go so often one needs a play card to know who is who, is not an accomplishment. Military? What has he done for them other than send more of them back into the fight?
Let me break down your list based on Congress and Executive Presidential tasks:

Congress
Repeal and Replace: Nope You can thank John McCain for this one. How is this on Trump?
Infrastructure Refurb: Nope There are other priorities 9 months in. This will happen.
Cut taxes for the middle class: Nope Passed by the end of the year.
Build a Wall: Nope Prototypes being evaluated. The wall will be build, although not over the entire length.
Fix the VA: Nope Google 'Forever GI Bill' and come back to me.

Executive
Renegotiate NAFTA: Nope In Progress.
Renegotiate our trade situation with China: See NK below
Deal with NK: It's funny how liberals like you are blaming the Trump admin for the NK disaster that has been decades in the making. GOP and DNC Presidents have done absolutely nothing, and now Trump inherited the mess. Trump has been leveraging China to put the most strict sanctions possible on NK and a military option is on the table. I'm not sure how people like you would propose to deal with NK.
Bring Jobs back to the US: Laughable. You must have missed the press releases of companies coming back to the US or cancelling planned foreign expansions.
Get our troops out of the ME: You want Trump to pull an Obama and pull back troops? No, he has given the military the authorization they were looking for to swiftly get rid of ISIS.
Drain the Swamp: Nope CFPB? Hello! Trump is getting rid of the Obama swamp.

Let's add:
SCOTUS appointment Check
Conservative judicial appointments Check
AG Investigation in Clinton / DNC Check
Rolling back regulations Check
Replacing Obama swamp appointees Check
Pulling out of Paris Check
Stop the world apology tour and put America first Check

All in 9 months. #winning

Because Congress has failed us don't make the ideas wrong. The idea that a president should only pursue bad ideas as they are the only ones Congress supports is something I reject.

Whether you like him or not many things Reagan did were not supported by Congress but he was able to get the people behind him and Congress felt they had to then go along.

This is where Trump fails bigly.

Plus, I wasn't on board with single payer but now I most certainly am. I want to divorce insurance from employment and the sooner the better, IMHO.
Just think if you and others had voted for him in the primary......

Well, using Trump as an example really is super obvious because he sucks in a variety of ways. Master negotiator, he is not.

Bernie's Senate track record tells me he's not quite so good at it, either.

It's really hard to convince the general public that you want to tax them MORE and to convince anyone in the business world that you want to tax them EVEN MORE.

Tough sell. There were some very interesting articles on Bernie supporters and how many of them were willing to actually pay the extra amount in taxes they'd have to pay and it turned out that most of them had no idea and/or were only willing to pay a fraction of what they'd have had to pay.

Which means, when the rubber hit the road, he would have lacked public support, most likely.

Which is too bad, because I would like for us to get to single-payer, at the very least.

I think it's funny to read some of these post and see how naïve some of you are calling Sanders a communist either your too lazy to look him up or you just believe what you hear from Faux and the other stations. I chalk it up to not being able to think for yourself which is why you all keep electing the Trumps, Obamas of the world.

Because something is hard is not enough of a reason to not pursue it. If you only get half of what you want, you are still ahead.
