Huntsville has the Army Redstone Arsenal, Army Corp of Engineers and a few others, where do all those engineers work other than government installations.

The last so called "tax reform" pushed though by GOP and signed into law by Reagan laid the seeds for the vast income equality that has only grown recently.

That hot mess of a tax plan was also supposed to spur the economy and so forth via "trickle down economics" which largely just did not work. Thems that had got more, and those with less got less.

A major piece of legislation written over hundreds of pages pushed through in a few weeks never ends well, I promise you that. It is telling already that much of the tax breaks/cuts for middle or non wealthy individuals expire in 2025. Meanwhile things that matter to the very rich such as estate tax reduction/elimination, pass through taxation and corporate tax reduction are permanent.

It has been proven time and time again supply side tax cuts *DO NOT WORK*. You grow an economy via demand, not by giving those with already vast wealth more of it.

Meanwhile back at the ranch you really don't believe Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan et al have your best interests at heart do you?

In any event by the time this all plays out many senators, members of House, and certainly DT will be long gone from office, if not this world. They can take the victory lap now, but we, our children and grandchildren and so forth will be paying the price.

This country still is staring down huge deficits that will only grow. In case you've forgotten we are still spending billions per year on wars in Middle East. Looming on the horizon are Social Security and Medicare that are going to explode in deficits as wave of Baby Boomers move into retirement age.
Yet Reagan was still a popular president and won his 2nd term in a landslide. He must had done something right. His VP even won the presidency by a nice margin.

It was because Mondale didn't have national appeal, if someone with more appeal to flyover country had been on the Democrats ticket, Reagan still would've won, but it would have been much closer

Yes and I'm sure you will agree that AL.com is nothing more than a leftist rag.....

Alabama has at a minimum 3 military bases...., Rucker, Redstone, and an Air Force base.......that is included in your "moocher" state "red" state monies.....

But you don't care about that....

Sadly that mandate was poorly written and executed. It only remained as law because Chief Justice Roberts threw Obama a bone and called it what it was; a tax.

Thing is once said mandate is removed and nothing concrete replaces, health insurers and the insurance market is going to go into a free fall. The remaining companies involved in ACA insurance schemes are likely to pull out and or raise rates. They certainly will balk at having to take all applicants regardless of pre-existing conditions. Which by the way for many companies was anything from normal/healthy pregnancy to mortal illness.

In short things will morph back to as they were pre ACA. Which I know is what many of you seem to want; but you'd better hope and pray your employer, retirement plan or whoever doesn't decide to drop your coverage while they can and or raise rates through the roof.

Many other non-other military companies.

Good luck in finding a Democrat these days who will appeal to flyover country.

That turn coat Roberts really messed my life up. That fine was a total joke and broke the law.

Yes by a carrot, not a freebie. They get a tax cut that doesn't encourage U.S. production or at the very least jobs. Should have been tied to job creation. Instead it isn't and is a form of corporate welfare.
