The GOP Senate won't even tell Democrats (that were elected by tax paying citizens of this country) what's in the bill. Democrats are seeing the content of the bill FROM LOBBYISTS WHO DO HAVE THE DETAILS.

No. The pie is being divided by the lobbyists and passed by Republicans eager to give the wealthy a huge dessert. The rest of the country will be lucky if they can lick the plate.

Well let's just throw you into the basket of Never-Trumpers.

Since you've been posting here you've been waiting for his impeachment. May I introduce you to Maxine Waters?

Let me guess, you voted for Gary Johnson because you like your weed.

How about a 2020 Johnson/Hickenlooper ticket?

Wrt taxes, raise your hand if you even pay taxes. Secondly, raise your hand if you truly pay too many taxes... Oh, I see a few of us.

This plan, which is mostly a tax increase for average Americans, is bad on many levels. It will only help big corporations and the wealthy. It is the GOP gift to them for funding their campaigns. It is a sham and a disgrace. It will not help the people that really need it and it will further increase the already large deficits.

As a moderate I have to say this tax plan does indeed suck, because of the provision of not paying capital gains on real estate gains going from 2 years to 5 years, and all the tax brackets in the senate plan are just ridiculous in general. You can tell they're trying to obfuscate and confuse the general population and the media isn't even being honest about the plan because they never bring up the provision that will be a tax increase for the middle class, the 5 year real estate rule.

That is exactly what it is. They told the GOP they would stop giving them money so they are voting for this as fast as they can. Make no mistake, this is a pure GOP tax bill. 100% GOP.

Default twisted truth

True ! There is estimated growth from this tax bill: Growth in wealth of the already wealthy off of taxpayers.

True ! Dire deficit of the budget that serves the taxPAYER.

Bad day for graduate students too. It seems that tuition waivers will be considered taxable income.

This means that if someone is attending Duke for grad school and has a tuition waiver (basically free tuition) and an assistantship that pays $15,000 per year, this student will now be taxed on $15,000 + $50,000 (guestimate at how much a year of grad school at Duke costs).
