Oh right. Sure, that explains it.

Your understanding would be wrong.

Carter had 32 years, Obama no so much yet. You guys hated Carter until your mouth had to say President Obama and your ears had to hear those awful words for eight years. Trump enthusiast worshipping him and slamming Obama is like Elon Musk trying to convince us " at least it's not a Yugo."

Sigh.
Obama is traveling on Obama Foundation business, and a meeting with foreign leaders to discuss issues related to that mission. As the former leader of the free world, he has that level of access.

It was intended to prevent the undermining of the government's position.[2] The Act was passed following George Logan's unauthorized negotiations with France in 1798, and was signed into law by President John Adams on January 30, 1799. The Act was last amended in 1994, and violation of the Logan Act is a felony

Ok, so, Obama is a free citizen and is able to visit anywhere he chooses, and spend time with anyone he wants. What is he "negotiating" ?, and what "dispute" are they discussing ? Looks like they were simply having a nice chat, both men smiling, and even you or I could visit China and sit down with Xi Jinping if we were able to do so.

The bottom line is, Trump supporters think Obama and Hillary should go under a rock somewhere, and never be seen or hear from again. Not gonna happen. Both have pledged to continue to work for America, and not sit on their butts , like previous past Presidents and Presidential hopefuls.

Obama is working hard to earn that pension we pay him, good for him !

So Obama has a friendly visit with china?

this china?

The New York Times: "The Obama administration has determined that it must retaliate against China for the theft of personal information of more than 20 million Americans from the databases of the Office of Personnel Management but it is still struggling to decide what it can do without prompting and escalating cyber conflict. In public, Mr. Obama has said almost nothing and officials are under strict instructions from naming China as the source of that attack."

Do you suppose Obama is in china to collect his payment for allowing China to hack OPM? Sure looks like it. Obama took a page out of cyber business and gets paid for releasing names and info about 'customers'.

China- 'hey barack, you lost big time, how does it feel to have your legacy policies rejected and your hand picked successor appear as an incompetent liar and two time loser?"

BO - 'cut the chatter and just pay me'

It's a crazy world when Obama visits China and the Brits are in Parliament trying to keep Trump out of their country. And people are concerned about ....who? Its still Obama enough with him already.

Secret service shouldn't be used for this either.

Obama must have a mental disorder and thinking that he is still the President. Maybe dementia!
Obama is a private citisen with no government powers. He iis free to meet with anyone he chooses.

He is a speaker at an international summit and the not for profit is picking up the tab and paying him a speaker's fee.

By law, the Secret Service protects all former POTUS and FLOTUS, regardless of location, for life.

The Chinese Press & News has laughed at the weak, hapless & stupid (in their eyes), Obama for years.

They will do it again.

Beyond that, nothing of consequence from this visit.

(Obama, making China great again)

They were clearly rattled by the Obama's foreign policy to "Pivot to Asia" It put them on shaky ground domestically. Any description of the him in their press was to ally fears domestically that this Pivot wasn't something to be concerned with, but they still ratcheted up tension

In case Trump voters think he came up with this on his own......

Obama was the first American president to go public with his exasperation, dubbing China a “free rider” in a global system built by the United States. In an August 2014 interview with the New York Times, the president noted that China’s unwillingness to shoulder responsibility had allowed it “to secure the benefits of the global trading system with none of the responsibilities.”
