He has no business, and is forbidden from, visiting any foreign leaders unless he has permission to do so from the current administration. That is my understanding of the Logan Act.
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.
Here is the text of the Logan Act so you can brush up on your understanding of it.
So in case you have any direct knowledge that Obama is influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, your understanding is completely wrong.
Oh, and here is the part that is of concern to Flynn and the future members of the Trump administration- "...or to defeat the measures of the United States..." - because it sounds like this is what Flynn just pleaded guilty to what they were doing.
What then would be the status of Dennis Rodman visiting No Korea and becoming "friends" with the Pres. of that country that is in conflict with the US..?

I want to know (as a U.S. citizen) what the purpose of his visit ts. Is he discussing policy? I think we are entitled to know what he's doing. This isn't a social visit.
Unless he's breaking the law (which he isn't) you're not entitled to anything.
He's a private citizen and can do whatever he wants as long as he adheres to the law.
Do you think I'm "entitled" to listen in on your conversations?

You have no clue as to what Flynn pled guilty to other than lying to the FBI!
And in the words of Liberal, Constitutional Law Professor Alan Dershowitz ..
Quote:
"Flynn will do anything to save himself and his son. His credibility is worthless," Dershowitz said on Tuesday - three days before it was reported that former White House adviser Michael Flynn would testify that the Donald asked him to collude with the Russians.
"They'll never be able to impeach President Trump," he also predicted.
Trump is and Will Be your President for the next seven years!
True.
Not sure why trump would hold him for ransom unless it would be to try and make the Dems fall in line with his grand ideas ........... wouldn't work though, like most of trumps ideas.
They are just going to talk about golf and the kids.
Or adopting little Russian orphans, oh wait, wrong meeting..........
