You have no understanding of the op. Clear from your attempt at factionalism.

You are correct. I, for instance have been guilty of slamming Senator Franken. He and his accusers deserve due process. Not a civil suit, not a sham congressional inquiry, investigation. Bring charges and see where this goes.

The founders feared and called factionalism.

Liberals and Progressives have long labeled extremist, far-right and such.

The Gay movement relabeled love and allusions, comparisons to the civil rights movement of the 1960s.

Republicans and Conservatives consistently refer to as identity politics.

#MeToo referring to as sexual harassment, abuse, patriarchy, depending on in many cases, some will say most cases, unsubstantiated allegations.

There is one fundamental truth, all are built upon half-truths, (I'm convinced there is some truth buried underneath, somewhere), inference, character assassination and so on.

All rely on suspension of due process, one of the legal bedrocks upon which our country was built. Another example is the DOE OCR Title IX Dear Colleague letter under the Obama Administration, which coerced, by threat of funding loss, Colleges and Universities to suspend due process and created extra-legal in-house faux adjudication of sexual assault charges.

So, to get everyone on the same page, a new global term is starting to be bandied about to describe the danger of all of these. TRIBALISM.

Tribalism is what keeps the ME in flames. It is definitely what threatens our great republic.
Nothing new here.

Factionalism has been going on since the 1990s. Don't expect it to stop now, especially when the GOP has been unable to pass legislation and has a President so unpopular.

Due process is still there for anyone who wants it in America. We have nothing to say about due process in other sovereign nations. If sex charges are unfounded here, either side still has full ability of prosecution and defense in our courts.

Tribalism is the primary social force in most nations in the world and always has been.

Coersion is what makes the government go round. It's always existed, and always will.

Is any of this a threat to our republic? Sure. It all can be a threat. The only way any of it can be stopped is for the people to step out of their faction, leave their tribe, and vote for the best choice that can be made, based on the most common-sense perception of the truth that can be found.

Occam's Razor is one way of discerning the truth: The simplest answer to a question is the most likely to be true.

It's no guarantee of truth, but it is generally the most applicable way of finding the truth. It's human nature; a truthful person tells a simpler and more consistaent story than a liar.

I would love to put all those factions on an island and watch them kill each other, or try to work together to escape off the island. All those organizations are too emotional due to not having proper parental upbringing including the Alt-right who come from broken down white homes.

I agree. The breakdown of the family structure, home community as focus and disintegration of religious life, of any faith, is causing the diminution of the once great republic.

I did not intend to say it is new. And, factions as a concept goes back to Alexander Hamilton in the federalist papers, among other of the founders; not the 1990s. What I did intend to point out is the growth of tribalism within our republic, a fracturing, if you will of our common core. Countries that are mostly tribal in nature are mostly unsuccessful on the whole.
