Seeing that this subject comes up on this site, I thought I'd share an article that explains the difference between the alt-right, alt-light, and militias. I had never heard of alt-light before. Many of the right wing posters here fall under this description I think. Does anyone self identify? Interesting read, nonetheless...
So militias are now pro-big government because of Trump?
Article didn't say that. It says, "...Historically, the militias were considered anti-government. They claimed that they were defending the US Constitution from politicians who were seeking to impose unconstitutional and authoritarian rule on the country. However, most of them have been vocal supporters of the Trump administration..."
One would read this as - they support Trump. That does not mean they are now pro-big government. Cheers.
There is no alt light. Milo is as alt right as Bannon and his Kkk-loving ilk
Maybe. I've listened to him and watched as much as I could stand. He seems to just say stuff to be offensive and shock people. Kind of like a gay male version of Ann Coulter. I think it best to ignore him. But, I can see your point if you think he is encouraging participation in the alt right activities.
Sort of reminds me of a line from episode one of The World At War that dealt with the rise to power of the Nazis.
They said that at the time the Nazis came to power Herman Goering was considered a “moderating influence” among them. He was a war hero, considered jovial and loved life.
Some moderating influence. Trying to parse between a bunch of bad apples is a useless exercise.

Trump is not a small government guy, by any definition.
So and so who I don't like is like these other people, who are kind of like these other people, etc.... who are literal Nazis! Therefore my opponents are evil and I'm good. It's the six degrees of KKKevin Bacon.
