The CBO also predicts that premiums in the markets would spike 10% without Obamacare’s individual mandate as the exchanges are left with a sicker consumer pool: http://fortune.com/2017/12/20/tax-bi...ate-obamacare/

So then don't provide insurance but give the workers more money to buy insurance from the market.

But again, this shows how poorly thought out ACA was. Almost like they wanted it to fail from the start. Here was a chance to help secure the individual market, yet can't be done. Same with the Cadillac tax.

It guaranteed a sick old and poor individual market.... a recipe for failure.

Yeah but 85% get a subsidy and won't feel it. The other 15% the govt did not care about from the start of ACA.

BTW my premiums have gone up significantly more than 10% each year under ACA even with the mandate.

Little to nothing was done by either side to address the cost side of the equation.

But as long as they have their latest smartphones and other gadgets, they they are happy and have no problems sleeping at night.
Many can not afford to sign up. You can ignore this all you wish but NOTHING was done to address the cost side. No, giving up your cell phone is not going to cover your cost of health care.

I've argued for years that unfortunately things are going to get far worse until people demand the right things get done.

Please stop repeating the simplistic liberal lie that everyone pays for the uninsured who use the ER for primary care.
Typically the hospital makes less money as a result, and I don't think it common for the hospital to pursue the patient so far. Of course the hospital can seek higher reimbursements for the next term. Which they would anyway....
