So if I'm reading the comments correctly--people do NOT want to save $1500-$4000 a year in taxes because they believe that in the NEXT 10 YEARS no Congress will have the ability to extend the tax cuts?

I'm assuming then that they believe Congress will return to a Democrat majority, in which case they probably won't.

I'll take my $1800 in savings now, thank you.

Sure they will be like " oh well another 4$ " but the way Trump/Ryan were talking they would be besides themselves with joy. It's not happening, polls before the bill showed a majority were against it and getting $4 extra a week won't change their minds.

They are free to voluntarily add $215 annually to their tax liability.

My taxes are pretty simple. According to this calculator I'll save $1750 a year. I'd be very happy if true.

This is bigger for them, then anyone.

A wonderful Christmas gift.
$4 extra a week is a great Christmas gift?

How is this bigger for them? we are talking $4 a week right?

For a mw worker making perhaps $100 net a week, that's an extra 4%. An extra 2 net checks each year.

These are people who walk around with less than $10 to their name. They notice $4.

Yes they could but why would they? and what logical sense would that make.

Have to agree that a person making that little amount they would notice $4. But your example that person would get the 135$ in tax savings figure which gives them a couple of bucks and change. Still when your that broke any little amount will help.
