No, I can call it wrong. Go look up the statistics for yourself. I'm not saying it got cheaper, I am saying the rate of increase fell under Obama. So...when your insurance costs go up these next few years...will you blame Obama, or Trump?
Insurers lost a lot of money writing at those rates because the ACA architects were scared of angering young voters so they made the "phase in" and resulting penalties too light.
That's why you saw all their adds about how it's *cool* to have healthcare aimed at millenials.
The insurer rates were based upon a certain % of younger members that would basically overpay and thus make the numbers work.
They didn't.
Soooo, that was what kept the rate of premium growth under Obama's administration down...artificially low rates that anticipated more young enrollees which never materialized.
Now with a number of insurers pulling out of markets because ACA failed to get young enrollee numbers up and they were tired of losing money, the rates have been spiking.
OP still doesn't know what the word "fascist" means but they can use emojis!
Hopefully the dems can balance things out a bit but when you look around and see the continued dem message (which is terrible) I can only hope the dislike of Trump will be enough.
Personally do not see GOP holding the House or senate long term into the future. Demographics simply speak against it; unless they can convert waves of young people over to their side as the boomers die off, so will go their majorities.
I heard that one in 2008....yet here we are today.
Neither party will die off, they'll just shift to attract votes and we've seen some of that already.
We've already seen some big shifts where formerly loyal blocks shifted measurably or Trump would never have won the election.
The republicans will be fine 80% of the people will be receiving larger refunds. The majority of people are sick of the ACA and want a change and still blame the Dems for that. I'm also sick of the Democrats whining all the time - so will be voting Republican most likely.

GOP got lucky, very lucky, but as you can see events of this week not withstanding the GOP party as a whole is not a cohesive unit.
The DNC did itself no favors by going with the worst possible candidate (Hillary Clinton), who in turn did herself no favors by acting as if the job was hers by right.
You may have heard this before and am saying it again; DT and the recent change of fortunes for the GOP is a "white man's last gasp" for an America that is simply changing too fast for their liking.
Each decade this country becomes less white, less religious and in many ways less "conservative" on many levels. If the GOP's idea of governing is what we've got a taste of via this tax "reform", then no; they won't be gaining major new support base.

When will some of you get it through your skulls that a "larger" tax refund is not the be and end all of things. What is the point of getting more money back/paying less in taxes if inflation eats away at whatever sums?
You also don't know (no one does actually) how overall this so call tax reform will do as it works its way through the economy. Oh and then you still have the fact the USA is drowning in debt and more is coming unless some drastic spending cuts are enacted.
And yet where would one find the information that 'the majority of people are sick of the ACA'?
Dems controlled the House, Senate, President when it passed and now don't control the House, Senate, and Presidency.
Also, for the first time in 55 years, Americans average lifespan decreased for 2 consecutive years in 2015 & 2016....gee thanks Odummycare.
