The king of the hill doesn't need to worry so much about getting along with his neighbors.
It's more like the other way around.
Trump is abandoning that hill, and others are stepping up to fill the vacuum. We'll see if you still feel the same way when it's Xi Jinping standing at the top.

And when proven wrong, they STILL don't give up. One of my right-wing legacy friends flat-out said that, "There would be no election in 2012 because Obama would declare himself dictator for life" - and he believed it. Obviously, this didn't happen, as I told him when he was dumb enough to say it, but he still think "oh, well... you know he wanted it to happen." as if that is the same thing. No, you don't get to do that. You don't get to pretend that when some right-wing nonsense is completely wrong, the people involved "wanted it to happen," and therefore the right-wing nonsense is still correct.
