Whenever such threads arise, which they do every half a year or so, I always like to recommend the little-known movie called "Viva Max", starring Peter Ustinov, Jonathan Winters, John Astin (Gomez of Addams Family), and Pamela Tiffin, and directed by Jerry Paris. It is about a Mexican general that retakes the Alamo, and hilarity abounds.
I guess Canada should reclaim some parts as well like Northern Maine where the border was set by the Webster-Ashburton treaty along with the disputed part of what was the Oregon territory.
the Webster-Ashburton Treaty was very different; it was more of an amicable agreement that was signed to help settle border disputes and ease tensions between the UK and US.
the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was more or less signed at gunpoint as a result of naked U.S. aggression and imperialism. It's ancient history, we're obviously not giving it back, but it was an act of aggression started by the United States. Mexicans have every right to be offended by it.
Half of the United States used to be part of Mexico. California, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, Nevada were all part of Mexico. I'd be surprised if US declines over time past our life times and Mexico reclaims back such regions I have mentioned. When Mexico achieved its independence in 1821 from Spain. Mexico was already a weak country, and a weak huge country. Mexico City the capital had poor communication with large areas of its country, thus making it easy for regions to feel disconnected from the rest of Mexico.
Parts of seven states does not equal half of the U.S. It's a done deal anyway. Mexico signed the treaty, relinquished any part of the U.S. that they held, lost them in a war and were paid for those lands by the U.S. government. No going back on the sale now. Besides 90% of Mexicans decided to become U.S. citizens at that time instead of remaining Mexican citizens.
BS, they are right. That should be Mexican Territory. Anyone who says any different is a racist and needs to be called out.
How are they right? Did or didn't Mexico sign that treaty and relinquish those territories and were paid for them? How the hell is it racist to want governments to honor those treaties? I swear some people need to buy a dictionary and look up the definition of the word racist.

He isn’t right. He should study history before blabbing off like that.
He threw the racist thing in there to stifle any argument.
Here we go again. They invent some ridiculous history to claim that people don't have to obey our immigration laws.
If we actually gave those states to Mexico, none of them would want to live there. It's not a dispute over the actual land itself. They don't even want it to be Mexico, they just want all their citizens to automatically be given U.S citizenship when they cross the border.

someone is trying hard to deflect from the fact that itd be great for all involved that we give California back to Mexico
