I have a friend who did contract IT work for a religious organization based in LA. Several times a year he'd fly there for about two weeks and he found LA to be 'profoundly depressing'.

Yes, the weather is perfect as long as you live within about 20 miles of the coast. Once you go inland, not so much. France also has the Mediterranean Sea which one could argue is just as nice as many parts of coastal CA.

everything you wrote after that is just wrong because you did not understand a very basic term like "household income" this is what happens when you set out with an agenda instead of seeking facts.
