Apparently, you did not see POTUS's 3 minute rambling response when asked if he would give Jared a security clearance. He mentioned multiple times how Jared, bless his soul, was not taking a salary.
Kushner is guilty of some very shady Chinese and Israeli Bank dealings.
Kelly is said to be kicking Kushner off the Island.
We shall see in the next few days.
It's really not up to Kelly. If Cowardly Donnie wants Kushner to have clearance even though he can't pass the background check - all he has to do is say so.
Yet the Cowardly Lion pushes this decision off on Kelly because he doesn't want to be honest about it.
Just give Lil Jared top secret security clearance and admit to the American people that you granted it - because you wanted to. End of story.
Well that depends on what your definition of taking a salary is. Rumor has it that Mueller is looking into Kushner mixing family business with his "duties" in the white house. What's better, a meager salary or vastly enriching yourself with world ties and potential future ultra rich business partners? You know, one hand washes the other.
As for those of you who think Trump has to cut Jared loose...you're not paying attention. President Trump NEVER backs down, and he's never wrong.

Trump has backed down on numerous occasions and partisan and non- partisan fact checkers have proven him wrong on hundreds of occasions.
Putting one’s offspring in positions of unprecedented inside influence is bad, bad optics. Granting top advisors, including offspring, unfettered access to classified information, despite their lack of security clearance is bad business.
There a huge diff between running a country and running privately-held businesses where mistakes are contained.
I was kicked out of college many times, when caught auditing classes - especially when I told them I was only there for the education - not the credits!
They got pretty unruly with me.
