Justice is carried out swiftly. His right to silence was delivered when the smoke cleared.

The. Why did only one police officer shoot him in the head? The others clearly didn’t think he was violent enough to be shot in the head.

"Bureau of Independent Investigation say that the 18-year-old had managed to seize the special constable's telescopic stick and hit him on the head"

If i was getting hit with a telescopic baton in the head, I wouldn't be thinking rationally, and might just shoot someone right between the eyes.

Here's a local report. Bertrand was in custody having been sentenced to 6 months in jail.

https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/shooting...nion-1.3783833

He wanted a smoke outside and was denied. He argued and struggled with Security. He took an officer's baton and used it to inju the officer.

This young adult will likely get a settlement and be dead within a few years given his inability to control his behavior.

So you think all the officers should have shot at him. Then the shooting would have been justified?

To the OP:

Canadians are Socialists, and everyone knows that Socialists kill people in cold blood.

That’s why we can’t have a universal healthcare system. Universal healthcare is socialism, and socialists kill people.

I live about a half-hour away from where that happened. I can also perfectly decode all the slangy lingo in the video that has been circulated.

A few points:

The guy who shot him is the guy who was struggling with him. He is a "special constable", sworn in as a peace officer and is the only one of the gang who was armed. The others who occasionally try to help are just rent-a-cops and seem to have acted with varying degrees of uselessness. AFAIK the special constable in question was alone on duty in the courthouse. It's a small town of about 5,000 people.

The young man was not shot because he asked to go for a smoke. He had just been sentenced and asked for a chance to go smoke outside, and apparently this was denied and then he got aggressive and the altercation started. I have no idea what he was sentenced for but it's the special constable's job to not let him run away from the courthouse. (Assuming that's what he would have done.)

The video begins after the altercation had already started. Yes the kid was in a headlock but obviously something happened before as I doubt it is standard operating procedure at a courthouse for special constables to put people in headlocks for no good reason when the person's mom, other family members and people filming with smart phones are present.

At the start of the video the special constable has a short conversation with one of the security guys and asks him to call the police, and the guy is seen walking away talking on a radio presumably calling the police.

The special constable yells out for help to the security guys several times during the video.

In the room yelling during the whole thing are apparently several members of the kid's family, including his mom and a cousin who seems to be of a similar age. The cousin is the person who shot the video. At no point in time in the video does anyone from the kid's entourage tell him to calm down, that he's gonna get hurt, that it's gonna be ok, or anything of the sort which is precisely what IMO a rational personal would do if their child or a relative was in that situation. All they do is b i t c h at the special constable and the security guys.

At one point you hear someone I assume to be the special constable say something about using his pepper spray. If he did use it it did not appear to have any effect on the kid given that the outcome was a shot fired.

Oh and the kid who was shot in the head is expected to pull through apparently.

The special constable was also hospitalized with a concussion I believe.
