Sounds like 5 year-old mentality.
When I look at other countries' tank parades, I feel revulsion. Doesn't matter who their head of state is. For me, this is just the latest confirmation, in a long line of confirmations, that Trump is a tin-pot dictator at heart. If we let him get away with it, he'd be looking to Kim JongUn for a role model on how to govern.

It's true that Trump is getting away with more than I'd like him to be getting away with.

But he's got a long way and many obstacles to overcome before he reaches Kim's level. After all, it's taken 3 generations for the Kims.

I know this because I have adopted soldiers. They share them with their unit. Send cookies sometimes....they love it. Hide a few beers in a case of soda (kidding...don't do that ). Send them things they can use...or just pictures from home. Some of them haven't seen home in a long time. Get involved with veterans associations. Go to the VFW and buy them a round. Or just hang out and say thank you. Find a homeless veteran...there are so many, and help them if you can. A parade is just for a day. Get involved every day. Let them know you are there for them all the time. Make time for them every day.
bold.

Reminds me of this

You know I have nothing but great respect and love for ya, but I have to say that many of them do talk like that. lol

I don't know what I think about the third world country incredibly insecure military parade they want the world to see, to me, it is TACKY and UGLY as hell.

I really hope Trump will reconsider. For me, the best gift to give to them is to be a true supporter. You listen more and be there for them. (of course, Copenhagen® Smokeless Tobacco is a must lol) My personal favorite is white, boot-cut socks. Also anti-fungal creams and powders. Socks, socks, and more socks!!!! Did i mention socks?

----------------------------------------------------------------

All these being said,

The US already has a disproportionately large military budget compared to many other nations, a parade is seen as a waste when the military superiority of the US is already unquestioned.

Communist countries and dictatorships frequently hold military parades to reinforce the oligarchy’s power and people want to avoid that. In France’s case it commemorate the French Revolution.

In France’s case, (by which Trump has been impressed upon by Bastille Day) their military parades hark back to the post- revolutionary days of pomp and ceremony, with areas such as the Champs Elysee and Arc De Triumf built to showcase such events.

Military parade like that is NEVER our military heritage and tradition.

Come on; be smart and boost troop morale by not making them participate in an expensive, inconvenient and pointless goat-rope like that parade. Use the time and money saved for more ammo at the rifle range, for cool high-speed, low-drag training and the like. Don't waste time or money on a dog and pony show like the stupid ass third world parade that looks like a circus.

Plus, do you really want to show off the best of your military? What about those "silent professionals"? How do you plan on showing off those? How do you plan on showing off your Navy SEALs, Marine Force Recons / MARSOC , your Green Berets, and Army rangers? How do you show off your Delta force?

Also, how do we show off our best infantry units? (I will only take Marine Corps as examples) How do we show off our
1st Battalion, 4th Marines, our 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, our 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, our 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, our 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, our 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 362 (HMH-362), 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Recon Battalions, whose motto is silent, swift, and deadly, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines whose motto is make peace or die? How do you show them off without making them look like high school cheerleaders?

sheesh, terrible idea.

I voted for Trump, but he should reconsider. I hope somebody talk to him about it.

Absolutely no proof given that Trump said any of it.
But that doesn't matter to the haters. He MIGHT have said it and they hate everything he says or even might say.

THey are consumed with hate.

There is no "might." Sanders and Mattis confirmed that Trump requested it.

Lightbulb Just a wild idea...

Instead of spending $22 million on a parade for tRump's ego, we have other more urgent needs:

1. Restore power for Puerto Rico
2. Get Flint, MI some drinkable water

Just to name a couple.

I take a parade over those.

What's funny too, are those having exhibited hatefulness since their boy showed up to encourage that, calling other people haters.
