It would raise the costs of good, the question I have is why do liberals get all giddy if it were carbon tax?

There hasn't been a federal fuel tax increase since the early 90's which is set at about 18 cents. Adjusted for inflation it should be 34 cents. The roads are in poor shape and it's badly needed, one important thing to understand is one of the big costs is the bridges which were all built in the 60's and early 70's. Many of them are due for replacement or major repairs simultaneously.

This is hot potato issue that neither side of aisle wants to touch because of the inevitable "Joe raised your gas taxes" commercials.... They will continue to ignore the issue by propping up the Highway Trust fund with general funds.

On a side note I can't believe I'm arguing with liberal to raise taxes. In this case it's quite clear they need to go up.

Leftists are such hypocrites. When their Progressive states do it they love it, just because Trump said this they all of a sudden hate it. What morons.

You figure them out, I can’t.
Even the GOP isn't stupid enough to believe that would work...
And he won't get his .25 increase either

ah another tax that disproportionately hits TRUMPS RURAL BASE!!!!

At this point i am wondering if Trump is doing it on purpose. Almost like he is angry they actually elected him, it is like he is purposely targeting rural folk time and time again.

A flat gas tax is much much more costly once you leave the suburbs...

I don't think Trump proposed it - he endorsed it. I am vehemently against any new taxes of any kind.

Lesson in socialism - govt. takes, takes, takes until the system breaks.

Default Taxes LOL

I would be ore concernted with the existing taxes that are in PA which are way worse than anything the govt can throw at us. Do you realise the state has raised its taxes on about everything more than 22 times in the past 5 years. PA one of the poorest states around where people barely get by already hits people with sales taxes, income taxes, borough taxes, taxes for being a human, business proveledge taxes, water taxes, sewer taxes and taxes on anything any everything and then some. Now add on all the state and town projects that you ay or may not get bills for. Add on the fees for the schools in your areas where if they are like our have too many schools in small areas and not enough students. This place is tax hell.

A user fee is the only appropriate form of tax, thus this tax is of the kind most legitimate. The income tax on the other hand should be abolished.
