A congressional hopeful in Kansas is under fire by some people for deciding to continue his raffle for a rifle to support his campaign.

Tyler Tannahill, of Leavenworth, announced the AR-15 giveaway via his Twitter page on Feb. 13. However, the AR-15 is the same type of weapon that was used to kill 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Feb. 14.

That's a good Kansas boy there. AR-15s are just what any good, red-blooded American gun fetishist should aspire to own. Only some of them actually want to use the weapons to go into a heavily populated area and shoot as many people as possible, although it is the absolute #1 choice for such psychopaths. It is good and right that a prick from Kansas should see fit to auction off one such weapon for the purpose of drawing attention to himself as a means of trying to win an election. I will not be voting for this clown, but I am in a minority here.

Why would a school shooting change a raffle?

Because raffling a AR-15 is like raffling the flu virus or vaccine - depending on your perspective - either way it's inappropriate.

I see nothing wrong with it. Probably gain some votes over it.

I could see it being poor taste, but I don't see a problem with this idea, especially if the winner of the raffle will have to be of the proper age to get the rifle, and pass the background check and able to get the rifle bases an their states laws and federal laws, then I am OK with it.

On a price point if the raffle is Up to $20 dollar per ticket to win a several hundred rifle that is not bad. But if the raffle tickets are $100 or more bad deal then
