Thanks for the history lesson I guess. I don’t think a bolt action gun would be real suited to a mass shooting though for obvious reasons, I doubt anybody will be calling for them to be banned.

Ever heard of Charles Whitman?

If not, it's time for another history lesson involving mass shooters and bolt action guns.

NYC has gun laws on par with Chi-town... murders have plummeted. NYC is on track to have yet another record (good) setting year.

Proportionately scaled up to reflect our population size, America would have around 15K gun crime offences in a single year. That would be good, right? Knife crime? I think... 600 Brits were murdered in 2016. Hmm. 697 homicide/65M population. America... 17K homicide/350M population. But the UK is a LOW bar. And about to get lower (highers) once they Brexit and join America in the Capitalist madness. What you need to do is look at The Netherlands... Germany... Austria... places in Western and Northern Europe where you simply cannot wind up murdered unless you are some kind of serious (unlikely) bad boy.

It's an irrelevant number because all someone has to do is drive to the Chicago suburbs or Indiana to buy a weapon. If you want restrictions/control to work, it needs to be at the federal level.

Breaking several laws and becoming a felon in the process. Maybe , just maybe one more law might deter them. What do you think ? We've got to do something right ?

I wonder how many billions of guns are outside of the United States. Not like they would melt away if they somehow crossed the border either. Also not like the the borders of the USA can be 100% secured, even with the "best wall"

There are LOTS of guns in Mexico too, but they are actually illegal there. Laws don't stop them.
