I think this is a great idea.

From Fox News -

"The Trump administration moved Tuesday to allow health insurers to sell lower-cost, less-comprehensive medical plans as an alternative to those required under ObamaCare – in a plan that drew swift protest from congressional Democrats.

The proposed regulations would allow insurers to sell individual consumers "short-term" policies that can last up to 12 months, have fewer benefits, and come with lower premiums.

The plans also would come with a disclaimer that they don't meet the Affordable Care Act's consumer protection requirements, such as guaranteed coverage. Insurers could also charge consumers more if an individual's medical history discloses health problems."

Dems fume as Trump pushes low-cost, ObamaCare alternative health plans | Fox News

The economy is in recovery mode but a lot of people are still just getting by, especially millenials burdened with student debt. The last thing they needed was a full care package with full price rates. This will be an excellent alternative.

So junk plans. Great "alternative" to actual health insurance.

So you would deny cheaper health insurance plans to those who can't afford the full plan?

I would like to see what these "bargains" exclude.

I have never worked in the health insurance industry, but I have worked in property and liability, and a fire-only homeowner's policy is pretty damn useless if your house gets flattened by a tornado.

They then become money thrown into nothing. That's what we used to have in this country.

Maybe we need to get rid of the middle man (IE Ins. Corp).

"Cheaper health insurance" that covers nothing is worth nothing. These kinds of plans are exactly why the essential health benefits was part of the ACA. So that people who paid premiums every month actually had some insurance when they needed it. There were plenty of these cheap plans around before Obamacare that were basically worthless.

So what you're telling us is Trumps "great new plan" is just returning us to the days when insurance companies can take your money and give you nothing in return.

Great progress.

So besides offering people more options about controlling their own healthcare choices, we get to go back and look at all the lies Democrats told us before jamming one of the most divisive bills down America's throat. Right before the 2018 midterms.

Why would mandatory HC be divisive unless you are listening to one of those channels that can't admit the Democrats could have a good idea.

"More options" - like anyone with a chronic condition not having insurance...
