NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch said Thursday that the media exploits mass shooting to capitalize on ratings.
“Many in legacy media love mass shootings,” Loesch said after walking on stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference to a standing ovation. “I’m not saying you love the tragedy, but you love the ratings. Crying white mothers are ratings gold.”
As she gave her sympathy to a grieving white woman last night.
I don't mind the NRA defending what they think is the right to bear arms.
I think it is cruel, vile, inhumane and disgusting to say things like that.
Vilifying the media doesn't exactly convince folks on the fence or against gun controls that the NRA has a sound argument. It just looks like partisan bull.

Well put it simply, NRA's interests are different from the students and everyday normal Joe. I'm not exactly sure if Dana's sympathy is in line with NRA's interests. They look like conflicts of interest to me.
A majority of people do not own weapons since they obviously don't see a need for them.
The NRA is an organization that exists to do one thing and to do one thing only: to protect the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
for the bipartisan NRA, a one issue organization, to align themselves in any way with the republican party will be the death of the NRA, in my opinion.
And then there is that great spiritual Wayne LaPeier (sp) sending prayers....he does NOT have a praying bone in his body and what do prayers do, true they don't kill but the NRA's guns do. Same with the great praying president.

Rights aren't defined by need.
People's rights are inalienable whether you see the need or not.

Is that opinion or is there a link to research to back that up ?
She's right. The media thrives on suffering. If it bleeds, it leads. They exacerbate suffering wherever they encounter it and then castigate as bad guys anyone who points that out. Dana Loesch is not the bad guy in the story, not even close.

So how does the right to life and right to bear arms work together?
The intention is there, but there are always those nutcases...
