Yeah though the whole Dump Trump thing didn't help matters. As I've said though, many other retail stores are in similar issues.
You know what - as a consumer (and a pretty regular one at that) I didn't even notice that JCPenney had made any sort of political statement one way or the other. Though if I had, I probably wouldn't have bought my towels there. Not because of the position they took, but because I prefer my shopping to be a political-free zone.

I don't want baristas, or celebrities, or basketball players, or other such folks blabbing on and on about their political beliefs. Honestly, I don't care what they think.

I vote with my wallet, and as far as I know that's still allowed under the constitution. If a company supports a cause that I find abhorrent they lose my business.

Seems like it fits. Of course you won't agree.

Good for you as I do the same. Outback Steakhouse contributed $60K to a Rick Santorum campaign years ago and I haven`t eaten there since. I think they`re still in business.

Most big companies making these statements are comprised of hundreds or even thousands of employees. I doubt that company PR people have polled their employee base to determine what political views they have. So what we're really hearing is the political viewpoint of company leadership. Honestly, I just wish they'd shut up. I am uninterested in their political views. Now, their company wide practices - different matter. Where they buy or manufacture their products, their compensation packages, that sort of thing - those matter to me. What they think of Republicans or Democrats or the NRA or Planned Parenthood or gay marriage - I really wish they'd just shut up and take my money in exchange for their products or services.

That's your choice and is no more or less valid than mine.

I didn't say or imply that your choice was less valid than mine but thanks for playing. What my discussion point was (which you ignored) was that company leadership in large companies doesn't know or probably even care what their employees' political opinions are - all we're hearing is from some guy or board who thinks their opinions are important.

It is? Do you have a source for that, I looked online and can't find any information about that.
