I know some Libertarians who helped start the police corruption Movement. Also had a lot of conservative support during it, and a lot of hate from Democrats because I'd call out their corruption.
I don't think either party represents a particular ideology. Neither is consistent.
What Left-Statists don't get is that we libertarians have been calling out police abuses since forever.
I think both parties are hypocrites. I think that is a FACT. I don't know why so many partisans can't see it. The "my party" is better game is getting old.
We've seen stuff from both sides that would make you want to smack a politician.
They can't see it because they're blinded by Statism and American Exceptionalism.
Without realizing it, the right is proving a point some of us are trying to tell them. Stay with me and I'll connect the dots. The right-wingers on this board are saying that all of the left want to ban and confiscate all guns from everyone. That's not true, but that's what they say. My feeling is that anyone who wants to ban and confiscate all guns are so far to the left that they're about to fall off the political spectrum. And they probably account for a very small fraction of people.
So now we're being told by the right that those on the left are "cop worshippers" who expect the government to handle everything. But it wasn't too long ago at the peak of BLM that the right told us the left hates cops and doesn't shed a tear when they're killed in the line of duty. So which is it? Can you admit that both are talking points and neither are true of the majority?
There are only two main political parties in the US. To think that one size fits all is pretty silly. A lot of people have different opinions from each other in both the Republican and Democrat parties. And, yes, the Democrats try to throw shade on the right-wingers, too. It's silly when either side does it and should stop if you really want to debate issues. If you want to look stupid and just troll, then by all means keep doing what you're doing.
I consider cops a necessary function but because you are giving someone lethal authority, they have to be monitored and regulated. I have utmost respect for good cops. When they engage in treason to try to depose the President we elected, they need to be locked up.

Unfortunately for us serfs, the police unions and crooked D.As have ensured that good cops are in short supply.
I'm speaking in general terms but I have noticed something about many people on the Left and that is they are hypocrites.
The Left loved BLM because they stood up to bring notice to a real problem. Once they devolved into a terrorist group that called for killing cops they lost much of their support as they should.
Many on the Left would disarm the public because they either don't understand guns so they fear them or all they know of them is what they see and hear after a mass shooting. "why would anyone want a assault weapon except to kill?"
Well many women that shoot use the dreaded AR15 due to its accuracy and low recoil.
The Right loves America, its history, heritage, military members, Police and enforcing the laws of the land. The Left seems to be against these things.
I started a discussion on the debate forum that had lots of responses but it was moved somewhere last night. It basically asked what would you do if there was a gun man outside your door and you were anti gun. I know people that hate guns and would ban them all BUT if they were faced with a lunatic with a gun that wanted to kill them they have admitted that they would like a gun to protect themselves with. Imagine that.
