As State agents they automatically have broken the NAP.

Explain to me what part of "defending yourself from a riot" = "anybody should be allowed to own whatever gun they want."

THAT is what is being discussed - the loopholes in background checks, the near-military grade weapons, the mentally ill with firearms, etc.

Riots are an exception to the rule, and can be used to justify anything from military guns to owning your own tank. None of that is par for the course. You don't make general laws about corner-case exceptions, otherwise you have no laws.

I'm damn tired of righties coming up with rare crap like "what if a gang of mutant bikers attacks you and they are immune to revolvers?!" Clearly, that's why we all need military weapons! Whatever...
This is not some imaginary thing that someone came up with. This is a real riot that actually happened. There have been several riots since and will undoubtedly be more in the future.

No, I'm not saying that rioting is justified.

However, I am definitely stating that after witnessing the Rodney King beating via television, and knowing that all had access to the video of this most brutal beating executed by these overtly aggressive cops, a verdict of "Not Guilty" was absolutely disgraceful.

It then became quite clear within the minds of African-Americans throughout the US that their lives were discounted and that the status of their citizenship remained second-class.

To remain as second-class citizens after centuries of abusive slavery, denigrating Jim Crow, and the daily encounters of routine racism, the acquittal of these overtly aggressive cops, outraged African-Americans throughout the entire country.

IMO

This feeling of outrage was completely understandable and justified....

No!

The answer will never be more guns, or more violence, or not even the threat of violence...

First of all, let's get one thing straight once and for all! Most black people in general, are law abiding citizens who just want to get through their day without any interruptions.
For the most part, those involved in crime are involved in nonviolent crimes of a misdemeanor status.
For blacks involved in more serious crimes of a felonious nature, their entry into crime can usually be traced back to gang involvement, dysfunctional broken homes, or drugs. These are the people that we generally refer to as repeat offenders.

IMO

If these types of people within the community have served their time and have been given a opportunity to improve their lives and they squander their chance, then whatever bad fate awaits them, then that's fine with me. Why?

Because these are the same people who constantly terrorize their own communities, drive out business, and cause terrorized home owners to seek safer areas in which to live. However, this group of thugs is in the minority when it comes to the majority of peaceful, often times Christian, and law-abiding citizens.

We don't need militias for African-Americans, or any other ethnic group, involved in any civil unrest.

We already have the police and the National Guard for these types of events, should they occur.

Arming American citizenry in mass is just a recipe for certain disaster, because there's just far too many crazies within our midst! Far too many guns and far too many A-holes!

And far too many racist too!

A racist American militia sounds too much like the KKK or Neo-Nazis to me...

No thank you!

This documentary is a great lesson for all Americans to learn why small arms are needed and how they can protect you and your family. No doubt another riot like this will happen again.
Can you tell us what Doc on Netflix was called?

That doesn’t matter. No matter how bad the cops behave, citizens have no right to get angry about it.

L.A. Poverty and Unemployment Rates Have Increased Since the Riots | L.A. Weekly
The LA Riots were not about poverty, robbing liquor stores, burning, looting ....
63 dead., thousands injured, over a Billion in damages.

Could it happen again? Ferguson, MO wasn't that long ago. You bet it could happen again.
Now there is social media to plan the Riots. Faster, bigger, anywhere.

So we should all arm ourselves in the off chance that there's a riot or a national disaster? Things that might happen once a decade, in one small particular area of the country?

Do as you wish. Let others do as they wish.

Life is messy. Enjoy!
