VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Organization does not seem very pleased with the replacement pick.

Also a random fact, he is one of the few random Obama Administration holdovers left in the White House. Surprised Trump didn't want to bring in a doctor of his own choosing, much less appoint them to Secretary of the VA.

well, unless Donald Trump picks me, no one is good enough.

This said,

In 2005 he joined the 2nd Marines, Combat Logistics Regiment 25, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. From there he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the emergency medicine physician in charge of resuscitative medicine for a forward deployed Surgical Shock Trauma Platoon in Taqaddum, Iraq.

In 2006, while still in Iraq, Jackson was selected as a White House physician. Since arriving at the White House, he has directed the Executive Health Care for the President’s Cabinet and Senior Staff, served as physician supervisor for the Camp David Presidential Retreat, held the position of physician to the White House and led the White House Medical Unit as its director.

U.S. Navy Biographies - REAR ADMIRAL RONNY L. JACKSON

At least, I know he is qualified. Why not giving him a chance first?

Trump is a lousy administrator. Geez. No wonder so many of his businesses flopped.

Jesus Christ....stop it.

You’re supposed to hire good people in the first place.

Because none of that qualifies him for the position he is taking. Not even remotely.

Its like saying that someone who worked for a decade at your local mcdonalds as a cook is suddenly the CEO.

That being said, I will judge him on the results. But he is not in fact qualified. Im just hoping he can meet the demands of the job, which are way way different then he is familiar with.

Why not even remotely?

Your second paragraph, that is a terrible comparison.

Last but not the least, if you are willing to judge him on the result, then that is it. Judge him on the result.

I still am wondering why do you think he is not qualified?

Shulkin has held numerous physician leadership roles including Chief Medical Officer of the University
of Pennsylvania Health System, Temple University Hospital, and the Medical College of Pennsylvania
Hospital. He has also held academic positions including Chairman of Medicine and Vice Dean at Drexel
University School of Medicine.
As an entrepreneur, Dr. Shulkin founded and served as Chairman and
CEO of DoctorQuality, one of the first consumer-oriented sources of information on quality and safety in
healthcare.

Was he more qualified? Really?

Compare to Shulkin, Ronny Jackson is way more qualified

The VA is the largest bureaucracy after the DOD I just don't see Jacksons experience qualifying him for this position. If he fired him because of his trip to Wimbledon then why are Mnuchin, Zinke, Pruitt still on staff, they all did far worse.

From his letter to the NY Times it seems that he was fired because of his resistance to privatizing the VA. This sure sounds like Nick Mulvaney and others, if they want to privatize the VA they should debate in the open.

Would like to know what "experiences" would qualify somebody (anybody) for this position.
