No. I'm talking of evangelicals. If were up to them, we'd be living in the equivalent of Christian sharia law.

The so called "moral majority" scored big with Reagan and GOP in 1980's, which in turn also helped both Bush pere et fils. But they knew overall the Republican party basically only tolerated the rhetoric and whatever that came out of the MM because of their ability to deliver votes.

GWBII may not have given them everything, but Evangelicals/conservative religious were totally frozen out during the Obama administration. Worse in those eight years their world was totally rocked by a near 180 degree turn around on LGBT "equality" including the legalization of same sex marriage, and removal of pretty much all bars to gays having children.

So if you're an EC in 2016 and you cast about at the two candidates for POTUS it is (or was) pretty much assumed the Clinton woman would pretty much continue down path set by Obama; at least on social issues. That left a highly disreputable and rather unsavory Donald Trump. As Margaret Thatcher said about Mr. Gorbachev ; the latter was a man they felt they could do business with....

Thus far under just two years of DT conservative religious have gotten far more than eight of Obama. All sorts of EOs about prayer, dozens of (thus far) all white and *very* conservative judges placed on federal benches, a rabidly anti-abortion administration, and a Justice Department that has ceased fighting for LGBT rights and instead going to focus on employers/schools or whatever that violate "religious freedom".

This is all very well one supposes; but it doesn't change conditions on ground; the USA is becoming less white and more importantly to EC, religious. Neither trend is in any danger of reversing, and fact EC got behind DT now makes them guilty by association so to speak. As one prominent EC said in Alabama after Roy Moore's spectacular election loss "no one will ever believe a word we say again....".

EC and other religious can sit DT down all they like. Ditto hold all the prayer breakfasts, and or pray over (for) the man; but he is what he is. Any change would make the conversion of Paul the Apostle look like a housewife having a bit of a dither at Albertsons.
Bingo.

DeVoss and her push for taxpayer-funded vouchers for "Christian" schools is a dream come true for evangelical "Christians."

If they can get that going across the nation, every church basement will be filled with eager young minds learning about the rapture, "intelligent design," ...

Speaking with reporters on Air Force One on Thursday, he also denied knowing about the payment that his attorney, Michael Cohen, made to Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, days before the 2016 presidential election. She alleges she was paid $130,000 not to talk about the alleged affair.

Trump has been invited to take questions from the evangelical leaders for roughly 90 minutes during the meeting. It's not clear whether the allegations from Daniels — or another woman who alleges she had an affair with Trump, former Playboy model Karen McDougal — are likely to come up while the president is on stage in a more open session.

So are you offended or just concerned that some evangelical leaders are wanting to meet with President Trump over continued allegations as it affects their relationship with his administration?

But all will be forgiven if they meet with Trump and he's clutching a Bible, and there's a crucifix dangling from his neck!

America's evangelicals sold their soul to satan several decades ago

Watching one of these TV preachers argue that "god wants you to vote republican" is a legitimately hilarious experience

Neither political party governs according to biblical principles, and it would be a gross violation of the constitution if they ever tried.

If another thread was devoted to trashing homosexuals and transgenders, this thread would have been shut down; but, since it's evangelicals, it's no big deal. This is the state of the union. Jesus' words ring true.

Matthew 24
[9] Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

[12] And because iniquity [sin] shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
[13] But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
[14] And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

It won't be long now!
