Huh uh, this isn't Monopoly with a free get out of jail card. Trump only has limited abilities to pardon people, and State charges are exempt , most times.

The affairs are not what might trouble Cohen in the future. However, to be permanently linked to Russian subversion of our democratic electoral process is a totally different matter.

Cohen strikes me as a two bit lawyer that talks tough but will fold pretty quickly to save his own hide. I doubt he’ll go to the hoosegow to save Trump. Time will tell soon enough though.

It's very likely Michael Cohen has knowledge of the many 'skeletons in the closet', he is (or was), after all, the national deputy finance chair of the Republican National Committee. There are a lot of folks that must be nervous about investigations based on the evidence in his files.
Mr. Cohen worked as a high-level executive in the Trump O for a decade or so. While there, he pursued business deals in Russia & was attempting to get Trump Tower Moscow built even during the presidential campaigning.
Mr. Cohen also has holdings in the taxi medallion businesses in NYC & managed by associates connected to the “Taxi King,” Evgeny Freidman. Mr. Cohen & family have been having recent tax 'problems' related to the taxi medallion business which they are blaming on Mr. Friedman. Mr. Friedman was arrested last June & was charged with four counts of criminal tax fraud & a count of grand larceny; his case is currently pending.
Long story short: Mr. Cohen has a lot going on, & there are a lot of folks interested in what 'time will tell'. & all of this while legally representing Mr. Trump personally.
All of US are certainly living in interesting times.
Cohen has a real family. trump is his Fake Family. Real family trumps fake family. If Cohen faces NY charges with jail time (that cannot be pardoned by a president), he will cut a deal even if it means flipping on trump.
