There are a crap load of jobs out there. You really need to ask yourself why you've been unemployed for awhile.

You ought to move to Atlanta or Dallas. You're a smart guy, you should be able to find a good job.

I hope you get a good opportunity soon...given the state of the economy, I believe you will.
My field isn't industry-specific. However, a major skill of mine is related to GIS and mapping, which is in several industries. My last job was related to water infrastructure. I've never worked in the oil and gas industry. I have tried to get jobs in the oil and gas industry (no experience in that field).

I live in the Atlanta metro area. That is where I held my last job. And I've been applying for jobs alot of them. Many of them are in other states. Most of the time, I don't even get called for an interview.

I've learned that I can be smart, but if I don't even get an interview, it doesn't matter. My point is this. Whatever praises of Trump I hear ring hollow for me.

They feel he is on the side of the little guy or gal. And to them has accomplished or at least tried his best to accomplish what he set out to do.
I know a reasonable number of Trump voters, and EVERY one of them I know who still supports him (which is nearly all of them) harbors some dark seed of bigotry or hatred in their hearts, and they aren't exactly secret about it. Maybe they hate gays, maybe they are biblical extremists looking for the end-times, maybe they hate the poor, maybe it is race-related - regardless of the details, hate is ALWAYS a factor with them, and it is silly to pretend this didn't influence their vote.

Oh, sure... they tried to hide it under nonsense about "Trump having a plan" and believing what he said, but it was nonsense. Anybody who was remotely familiar with Trump's public record would have known he's not be trusted in any way about anything. So, I guess I'm just supposed to pretend that Trump's blatant appeal to bigotry and hatred of those less fortunate had nothing to do with people who share that view falling in lockstep and supporting him?

Seriously, am I supposed to pretend a guy at work I know who treats women like sex objects and thinks blacks and women only get promoted because of their race and gender really voted for Trump because "he's a great businessman?"

Am I supposed to pretend the various religious extremists I know voted for him not because of the Republican party's well-known stance against gays and other religions, but because, "he really cares about America?"

Sorry, not buying it. While the majority of Trump voters are NOT like that, of course, more than enough were to give him the election easily.

Like it or not, a significant number of Americans are actually happy these days. They are making money. They feel safe,

And liberals just can't stand Americans like that! How DARE Americans be happy and productive when the democrat media tells them how horrible everything is?

I was born in ATL and grew up in Alpharetta. How are there no jobs there?

The media isn't Democrat. They're shills for the MIC.

I never said there weren't jobs there. I'm saying that any praises of Trump ring hollow for ME. And by the way, I've had a few interviews for companies in Alpharetta. I never get a call back after the interview is over with. Furthermore, most of the jobs I've applied for, I don't even get calls for an interview.

And something else. I've read that Georgia has ranks 32nd in the USA in terms of unemployment. Basically, it has a higher unemployment rate than 31 other states.

This isn't the case for everyone. If you aren't white, male, straight, cisgender, conservative, and Christian these aren't the best days. If you trust science more than bronze age mythology, these aren't the best days.

What's the ATL metro area's unemployment rate, though? You know GA and ATL are two completely different things.

That's shocking that places in N. Fulton aren't calling you back; that area has been begging for workers since the 90s.
