How something that is so basic to human nature (sex) became so taboo, I'll never understand.

Watching some people have sex has never, ever, driven me to a feeling of violence.

This country is so backwards sometimes.
Agreed. Most of Western Europe is much less prudish than the US, and much less violent.

On the contrary, the US replaces sexuality - or even just regular nudity - with violence.

There was one show with a horror scene that originally showed a bit of someone's butt crack, but the US version of it opted to censor that by having it covered in blood.

Nice...right?

Anyway...

Anyone who has violent urges after watching porn should seek professional help, like yesterday.

Ive never understood why majority of americans tolerate an agency like the FCC, basically deciding what is moral and what is not, in terms of what is censored on network tv.

I would think, especially in the US today, there would be lots of calls for the FCC to STOP this practice, people asking why a federal agency is deciding what is appropriate for tv.

Pornography has little if anything to do with school shootings but a lot to do with sewers having a high sperm count.

Pretty much this.

The only think porn is guilty of is creating a twisted sense of what sex in a relationship is...
Not all women are that bendy, and not all men have a third arm.

H L Mencken characterized Puritanism as "the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy"

It's not basic for kids.

We used to protect children from adult situations... not anymore, and in many cases they are the victims of sexual predators... and it ends up jacking up their whole mental equilibrium.

I don't know if pornography is directly related to the violence. i'd have to see a study asserting the correlation to comment.

I do know high school kids had access to guns aplenty when I was in high school 40 years ago and there were no student on student mass shootings.

something has changed in the ethos of high school kids.

Some of the free porn is so twisted it is just this side of snuff. Certainly some of the participants who are clearly drugged are injured in these acts. Kids watch this. Angry, mentally ill incels watch this. Yes it is dangerous. It is bad enough they can watch actual gruesome death videos but with modern sick porn they see torture tied in with sex. This isn't blaming music or books it is real violence.

need to build higher shelves where degenerate, mass-murderers-to-be can't reach the pornography in the grocery stores.

Could the school shootings have anything to do with access to guns? Nah... It's pornography - of course.
Of course, it's an inanimate object!! Let's counter one stupid theory with another of equal value.
