And the pimps know this and can now more effectively and brutally control their workers/sex slaves with threats of violence to get them to come back, knowing that the police no longer have any leverage to get them to talk as they face no consequences.
It's literally the opposite. Before SB 1322, a minor would be punished for identifying their pimps - now they don't face any pressures.

Or do you consider the California State Senate's official website (dominated by Democrats) to be "fake news"?

Feel free to point out the parts I got wrong.
The part you misinterpreted sir, was about the minor child being able to leave the police station. It states in the text the child will be placed into temporary custody if no physical address can be established, or possibly if there is abuse in the household. Use your common sense. What police officer would let a minor child walk right back into where they were removed from? They might make it back on their own, but I'm damn near 100% certain it wouldn't be with the cops' help.If you would not let a child leave your protection, then what makes you think police officers would? They have families comprised of daughters, sons, nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers. I'll bet they think about them when they see these kids in the street being manipulated and exploited.

Before SB 1322, a minor could be pressured to turn on their pimps in order to get off/avoid prosecution. Now, a minor gets a bed in a child welfare facility before--being brainwashed and desiring to go back to what they know--walking back out on the street to their pimps. There is a reason why the abused stick up for their abusers. This bill does nothing to change this psychology, but, as I said before, makes it more difficult for the police to go after pimps as they have no leverage with the minors arrested.

So I guess right wingers want exploited children to be charged with a crime?

Does "human trafficking" ring a bell? Most teen hookers are runaways who get exploited by pimps.

California has it right. Don't punish the victim.

lmao...Nobody gets arrested in a human trafficking situation except the kidnappers. What a lame attempt at justifying the fake news you read.

ummmm, that's ONLY for people who have no physical address or there was abuse at the location. What about minors who DO have a physical address with no abuse there? Yup, out the door they go to go on their next romp.

what a dumb assed thing to say. People caught up in human trafficking for prostitution don't get charged.

California joined ten other states that rewrote laws to recognize minors as victims, instead of criminals as it relates to prostitution.

In all cases, the consumer of such services is committing a crime.

Why would you arrest victims of human trafficking?
