I get that having one between one country and another is fine, but why should we have one where, say, seven countries are part of it? If a majority of countries had to agree on terms, then it's possible that four countries could make the agreement in such a way as to screw the other three. However, in the case of the three being screwed, pulling out due to the bad parts could wreck havoc on their economies as it would impact even the good parts that they pulled out of.
As such, I don't our country should even allow things like NAFTA to exist. At the very least, they should be treated as a treaty and require 2/3 of the Senate to go along and also, as I think should need to be reaffirmed by 2/3 of the Senate every so often so that we aren't trapped in a bad agreement that the Senate ratified 30 years previously.
The guv shouldnt be involved in any trade between private business.
True, for the most part (I would't like the idea of Boeing selling top weapons to our biggest enemies.).
However, tariffs ARE government issues.
