Republican strategist Steve Schmidt renounced the GOP early Wednesday and announced that he will begin voting for Democrats.

Quote:
"29 years and nine months ago I registered to vote and became a member of The Republican Party which was founded in 1854 to oppose slavery and stand for the dignity of human life,” Schmidt tweeted. Today I renounce my membership in the Republican Party. It is fully the party of Trump."

Stating that the party had become "corrupt, indecent and immoral," and that the "GOP has become a danger to our democracy and values,” Schmidt urged voters to elect Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections.

Steve Schmidt did give us Sarah Palin, but it is nice to see that he has a conscience and values as opposed to the Trumplicans who have infested the Republican party.

In 1992, I renounced my GOP registration and began urging people to vote 3rd part/Libertarian.

I hereby echo that renunciation, and declare once more that both major parties suck and everyone should vote Libertarian!

The only thing worse than a Republican is a Democrat.

I am positive that the same could be said for the Democrat Party. That is, if we are trying to be honest here.

Lightbulb Today I Renounce My Membership in the GOP

I did that 15 years ago and never had a reason to look back.

Should have done it earlier.
