Your statement is a half-truth at best. What sources did you use to make this claim?

Income Distribution by Party

So you obviously didn't read the OP's post.

almost all of them. Jobs are produced by demand. Not by production.

Bingo.

Many whites don’t seem to know or believe that huge swaths of this country are filled with white rural poor people who receive assistance.
The sad thing is that the way welfare is set up, even if the recipients want to work, the welfare rules are backwards and discourage getting off welfare. If you make too much you lose more benefits than you can make enough money to pay for by working.

There are both blacks and whites on welfare, some gaming the system because it's all they know, others who have bad attitudes (think they are owed), others are too damn lazy, have no pride. Some people who want to work but as I said before, the system keeps them trapped.

I wonder if those professional protesters are on welfare. If that's the case, all they do is cause problems and I don't want to pay for that.

One of the few things me and Petch agree on. When you place someone in a situation where making $1 more costs them $100, they won't take the chance because while long term it may help, short term they need to buy diapers. Some common sense work around that topic would be wise. a falloff in benefits rather then hard cutoffs would help a lot.

Actually, their statement isn't true at all. Back in the day, way back, the GOP was the party of the wealthy but that's changed as our economy has changed and as white-collar professionals with college degrees have geared more towards Dems and away from Republicans and Trump only exacerbated that:

Quote:
Interestingly the Democratic party as a whole skews towards the wealthy. The New York Times noted in October 2016 that in a recent poll 45% of households making over $100,000 were voting for Democrat Hillary Clinton opposed to 28% of Republicans voting for Trump. Those earning above $250,000 were even more skewed towards Hillary, with 53% planning to vote for her vs only 25% for Trump.

Anyone who even in the slightest follows politics knows this is happening and has been for quite sometime. The GOP has become the party of rural America while Dems have become the party of urban America.

Yes the welfare rules are poorly written and keeps people trapped. Gov't always seems to do a poor job.

I think everyone believes we need a welfare system for the elderly, the disabled, and people who run into bad times (temporarily), unfortunately it's people who abuse it that make it hard for us to fight against welfare as it is written today. We need to start by getting able bodied people off the system so we can give more help to people who really need it. We need to come up with a way not to punish people who are trying to get off it, instead the system punishes anyone who tries.

Here we go again... lets get them lazy scheming people off them food stamps that feed their kids and give more tax breaks to the wealthy.
Corporations now have record profits and we have more wealth inequality than ever before. They have to get some of that money back they gave to the wealthy don't they?
Sheesh after they pick on black people and brown people its always the poor. Don't want anyone frauding the system except the politicians and their ilk. Both parties.
G***Da* hypocrites.
Ya gotta give it to the good ole GOP, they r genius at getting folks to vote against their own best interests.

Stop the nonsense sindey. You know welfare is abused (the tax payer is abused). And yes, while we're at it, lets stop giving big corporations big tax breaks and get rid of lobbyist. By the way, if you think raising taxes on "income" is the way to go, that tells me you don't know much about taxation and how they can get around it.
