If you want to see what a "Libertarian" society would devolve into just watch the "Escape from New York" movie from the 1980's starring Kurt Russell aka Snake Plissken.

You think we are not heading there anyway? As soon as the rest of the world get their act together (and they will) and do away as the dollar as the official dollar of trade it won't matter what economic principle we follow.

Perhaps, if people and/or Govt's don't step in and stop it. Assuming that doesn't happen I think if we look far into the future (let's say 500+ years from now) the powerful/wealthy/elite will abandon planet Earth and form a new world (most likely Mars).

Either way I'll be dead - so for now I'm enjoying the ride.

You means the anachists that declare themselves to be.

Their error:
3. In what Liberty consists. It is true that in democracies the people seem to act as they please; but political liberty does not consist in an unlimited freedom. In governments, that is, in societies directed by laws, liberty can consist only in the power of doing what we ought to will, and in not being constrained to do what we ought not to will. We must have continually present to our minds the difference between independence and liberty. Liberty is a right of doing whatever the laws permit, and if a citizen could do what they forbid he would be no longer possessed of liberty, because all his fellow-citizens would have the same power.

-Montesquieu
Everyone invested with the same power to take a limited resource leads to a state of war.

Then as I said, you have no argument at all. Why is there no governing body on the moon ya think? Its a full fledged libertarian paradise.....No one will take your "property". The entire point if a political system is when interests conflict.
