It's actually kind of funny. Kim is not going to get away with playing nice and then cheating. North Korea is going to disarm or they are not. There will be no middle ground where North Korea pretends to disarm and then, following the Iranian model, refuses to allow inspections or access.
Pompeo delivered the message and it looks like North Korea got it.
In a great understatement, North Korea accuses USA of trying to disarm North Korea "unilaterally". Yep! You got it, Kim. The US is doing it, and we are alone. Live with it.
Jeez! Kim and Trump represented the only nations at the meeting. And now North Korea wants to complain about US doing it "unilaterally"?
At least the administration is trying something different. The isolation policies over the last few decades didn’t help. It appears being nice will fail as well. Assasination?

Would you say the same for dozens of other countries? How about Yemen? Pakistan? Afghanistan?
They have lots of options...which are much more probable than going over to the USA bloc. These involve what they are currently doing....that is, aligning themselves with the "winners" in the current world - the Ruskies and the Chinese.
If Kim signs a mutual defense treaty with the two- or even one - of them, what are we going to do about it? Nothing.
