America spends more money on war, military and foreign aid rather than investing in our own nation!
The sad truth (and it is the truth...don't let anybody bullsh*t you overwise) is that the people who really call the shots don't give a damn about "America" or it's people. They care about power and control, and becoming even wealthier than the already are. The American people are relatively well-trained and educated cattle to be exploited for taxes and labor. Congressmen work for them because they have virtually unlimited money to persuade them to see things their way. Whatever left that is good about America is pure legacy stuff (infrastructure, The Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc) and also a dwindling number of people who still believe in America and try to do things the right way. That is all that is holding this place together these days. The power structure has been totally rotten and corrupt going back decades and decades now.

Thank you. Why can’t we change in this country so I don’t have to move? Why are you not change for the better?

We already pay very high taxes.

The electric companies, by code, consider that "new" service, so if your house is more than a couple years old it has to be brought up to current code, another $10K minimum.
Why couldn’t they be buried in first place? The cost to bury them underground in the long run will outweigh the cost of keep fixing it in short term after every single storm we have! Why does Europe bury them underground? Once buried underground you very rarely need to repair it.

GDP is irrelevant. Some countries have higher GDP than the US.
Also in Germany salaries may be lower, but they get much more benefits and more affordable in general for average German than average American. Germany has many free stuff that Americans pay a lot for.

In Germany all roads are very smooth, well maintained, great public transportation, powerlines underground, homes are built great to last very long.
