And even when they took the polls in other countries, conservatives were much happier.
In 2006, PEW showed republicnas at 47% very happy while only 28% of democrats were.
And every survey since shows co servatives more happy.

This explains to me why you see so much anger, hate-mongering, vulgarity, intolerance, and devisiveness with democrats —they are pretty unhappy.

Maxine Waters, Pelosi, Schumer, et al — they are always outraged at something even when a democrat is president. Hollywood celebrity liberals are so often substance abusers, depressed and suicidal, and their movies are full of perverse violence and sex. Democrats rant, riot, harrass people, and lack civility and manners.
You just don’t hardly ever see republicans doing this. (I do not include Trump as a real republican, he was a dem for much longer and fits more with their angry bullying temperament)

Polls have consistently shown Republicans are far more charitable in their communities than democrats, so democrats could learn something from this. I want us to have two healthy parties in this countries for checks and balances. I don’t feel the democrat party promotes emotional health and balance anymore.

Researchers at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles recently reported on a study in the Social Psychological and Personality Science that looked at “five data sets that include representative samples from 16 countries,” finding that conservatives found greater meaning in life and as a result were happier.

“A question that still needs to be addressed is why conservatives find more meaning in life than liberals. Our results showed that it can’t be completely explained by the fact that conservatives are more religious than liberals and religious people find more meaning in life than nonreligious people,” study lead David B. Newman noted. Perhaps one perk is relationships.”

Winston Churchill wrote that “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”

Beat me to it.

Also, higher intelligence has been shown scientifically to be linked to less happiness. Liberals tend to be higher educated, and higher education tends to correlate to higher IQ.

Btw, OP, one things conservatives definitely are more of compared to liberals is afraid.

Well, I think that if people are affluent, they will generally be happier and more content than the poor, and according to the link below, more Republicans than Democrats are affluent (percentage-wise, at least).

From the article linked below: (my italics):

"Financially, Republicans fare better than either Democrats or Independents, and tend to identify themselves as such. Republican candidates gain a significantly higher percentage of votes from individuals with incomes over $50,000 per year, and the advantage increases along with the income level, to a height of 63 percent of individuals earning $200,000 or more a year supporting Republicans. This level is the direct inverse of individuals earning less than $15,000 a year, who support Democrats at 63 percent and Republicans at only 36 percent.

"Republicans also express a much higher level of satisfaction with their personal financial situation than either Democrats or Independents. Before the U.S. economy’s downturn, an all-time high of 81 percent of Republicans expressed satisfaction with their personal financial situation. That number dropped to 61 percent in 2009, but it is still significantly higher than the corresponding 52 percent of Independents and 49 percent of Democrats. A much larger proportion of Republicans than Democrats also identify themselves as “haves” versus “have-nots.”

Not the men for sure.

Wide ties, bad comb overs, no thanks. I am sure it varies regionally and so on, but th liberal guys in the Northeast, in my age group still hike, surf, snowboard, and so on. The conservative guys are golfing and watching sports on tv. Admittedly this is a small sample size, but my liberal husband, still a head turner at nearly 50.

Besides we have the majority of gay men. Most of them are just objectively better looking.
