Depends on what you are buying, how you are paying, store policy and who issued the card if you are using one. I've been carded for things like video games, lighters, spray paint and of course alcohol.

Yesh those items are all on my weekly grocery list.
I seriously don't think he knows how any of this works.
I like the requirement of ID to vote. Said ID should be zero cost. If the Dems are too lazy to help their dumber members get said ID, they deserve what they get... But I am betting they will make it happen.

How old are you?
What kind of grocery store do you shop at that carries spray paint?
I wonder if this guy ever bought groceries in his entire life. Probably not.
Photo ID is required in several cases, depending on store and or CC/DC company policy. For example: using a credit card or debit card, or writing a check. I happen to live in a vacation destination area. I'm a local, but I'm always asked for photo ID when using my credit card. At every store, not just the grocery store. Many times the CC/DC companies issue such a requirement in areas in which fraudulent use of such cards is rampant (such as in areas in which large numbers of non-residents visit).

If you pay with a credit card, you can be carded by the cashier, even with the little swipe machines right there. If you pay with a check, same thing. If you go to a Commissary, you must have photo ID. If you buy alcohol or cigarettes, you have to have a photo ID. I'm not sure why this reality escapes you.
Walmart refused to sell milk to me yesterday because I had no ID.
