Negro Cocaine Fiends - New Southern Menace - NYT February 8, 1914


The article says, among other things, that cocaine makes negroes impervious to gunshot wounds, increases their courage and "homicidal tendencies." It even is said to induce "temporary steadying of the nervous and muscular system, so as to increase, rather than interfere with, good marksmanship."


This article does not mention it, but of course there were rampant fears among white progressives at the time about white women being deflowered by the "Negro cocaine fiends."


All of this was the major impetus in passing the Harrison Act of 1914, which began the federal War on Drugs.

Impossible, as progressives/leftists don't have a racist bone in their body. Just ask them.

I have not read about her personal life, yet I'd have bet the farm she was not hetero. Most female misandrists are homo, and listening to and reading her numerous anti-male rants, it was not a stretch to assume she fit the mold.

I tried to find the article, but perhaps I was confusing two things. They talked about Quinn Norton who was hired and fired the same day by the New York Times for the same tech editor position for tweeting anti-gay slurs, but she claimed to be a member of the LGBT community. I got that confused with Jeong.

I’m not judging, just honestly thought I read she was a part of the LGBT community.
