Your position on who shares the burden of proof is just that - your opinion.
In reality, anyone making a claim ABSOLUTELY CAN BE ASKED TO PROVIDED SOURCES AND TO SHOW THEIR WORK.
And people should be able to demand proof without being called Russian bots.
It’s the demand part that is problematic, but otherwise I agree the Russian bot accusations (along with storefront accusations) are out of line.
You know, folks, people can have a different view of something than you without being some nefarious being. Real live people can have too much time on their hands and so rack up a large post number spouting their take on some given topic or event.

Because they have equal access to google to look it up. Or Snopes. Of PolitiFact.
What they are doing is a deflection attempt and it's bogus. It's disingenuous.
actually i argue the opposite ( and frequently do on this forum ). if you make the claim then it's your responsibility to provide proof to support your statement. to not is intellectually dishonest.
Indeed, before the Russian bots, nobody ever demanded proof, sources & evidence.
We all just KNOW what is "factual" because we read it on any number of super-reliable news sites, such as Huffpost, Occupy Democrats or the Daily Kos.
Do you really think it took the suspicion of Russian bots for people to have asked for outrageous claims to be support with evidence---
I have fairly long history of posting on CD and I can remember asking for validation of some claims people made as "true" or "real"
I notice you didn't list Fox News or other right-wing media as your "super reliable news sites" which seems to omit the sources conservatives, Trump supporters pull out to legitimize their posts....
There is no reason NOT to ask for validation if someone makes a statement that another poster thinks is not credible
Have the time the "proof" won't be believed if the statement disagrees with the POV, mindset of the person asking for validation...no matter how woefully short of reality it is...
I always wondered about some of the "posters" on various forum who have 30,000 or 50,000 posts. All hours of every day and every night on the same forums. Russian bots have been detected . . . .
LOL.
I'll believe it when I hear it from a mod or someone else who might actually know something.
Because bots are not people they are programs with some ai knowledge that get into forums to spread the Russian agenda which is to cause doubt in American Democracy.
America is not a democracy... it is a representative republic.... the founding fathers knew we did not want a democracy (mob rule)
Because bots are not people they are programs with some ai knowledge that get into forums to spread the Russian agenda which is to cause doubt in American Democracy.
Who is causing doubt in American Democracy more than those who are trying to undermine the legitimacy of the 2016 elections and who are, with the aggressive support of the Democrat left mass media, trying to oust the duly elected president of the United States?
