No, we should not just believe it. The accusation should be thoroughly investigated, with any corroborating witnesses or evidence that may be had. It should not be a hearing of he said/she said only.

Even the FBI doesn't support that. It's not under their jurisdiction. The accusations have to be investigated by local/state police. I'd be good with the accusers filing a local/state police report under oath. Then prosecute them if/when it turns out they've been lying.

See if you can find a post by me where I said I thought Kavanaugh was guilty of assaulting Dr. Ford. I haven't taken any position one way or the other. But I'm curious to know if Kavanaugh has made any statement about a personal friend and associate of his trying to frame an innocent man. If he has, and has condemned this fraud in no uncertain terms, I won't mention it again.

If not, I'd think you respect women enough to want to make sure Congress isn't about to put a man who is guilty of sexually assaulting a 15yo on the bench of the SCOTUS.
