Sure, none of them have changed their vote...yet. But if Ford testifies before Congress, it's going to put this front and center with Americans who might not be paying as much attention as we are. If she is a credible witness--and all indications right now are that she is--you're going to see a lot of Republicans back away from Kavanaugh.

I'd say he's finished.

And who knows how many "failed" polygraphs she took before she finally "passed" one?
This is not a criminal proceeding this is the court of public opinion, what’s the harm.

Exactly.

Republicans know this better than anyone. Their stock in trade is smearing people with innuendos, fake conspiracy tales, and outright lies.

It's how they ended up with Trump leading their party.

I hope the republican party is aware of how much it will matter.

Dems are already holding a pretty big lead in polls for November. Granted, we saw the polls in 2016 and that didn't pan out.

But the last thing the GOP should want to do is enrage the left and fire up the #metoo movement less than two months before the biggest mid-term in decades.

Trump's presidency hangs in the balance. Independents are parting ways from Trump in droves. If the GOP pushes to hurry up and nominate Kavanaugh without giving Ford a chance to testify, independent professional, college educated suburban white women will turn out for Dems in a big, big way.

So I guess this news about Judge Kavanaugh mother is thrown out of the window?

However, I wonder why Christine Blasey Ford had all scrubbed her social media accounts if she have nothing to hide?

Credible? This is a 35 year ago he said/she said story.

The harm is that polygraphs can lead to misleading conclusions. Apparently you didn't read all I wrote. You can shop for an examiner to interpret it any way you want. If Kav is to take a lie detector test, then have them both take the same test with the same examiner under the same conditions.

It's not the court of public opinion, it's the court of senatorial opinion.

I say, swear her in and let her give her full testimony and cross examination be heard.
Then let Kavanaugh be sworn in and be questioned upon it.

The next few days will have an enormous impact on the next 4 years for the Republican party.
Exactly. The GOP is between a rock and a hard place with this issue because the mid-term election is around the corner. They don't want to T off women voters of ALL parties by brushing this aside. On the other hand, they want to rush to vote for Kavanaugh because they hid all those documents and they want to get him voted in before the truth about the documents is exposed.

The GOP is the one playing the dirty tricks by hiding the documents and forcing an early vote. This attemped rape issue is forcing them to slow down their forced rush on the vote. Their original game plan is not going as they expected. And the Trumpists are in an uproar here on C-D, lashing out at Democrats almost as bad as a Trump Twitter tirade.

Who knew politics could be so entertaining. 2018 has been an entertaining year for politics and it's still not over.
