Do you agree with tim alberta or senator flake? why?

@sbg1

'The fever will break eventually,' Senator Flake told me outside the Cathedral. 'It has to.'

@TimAlberta

Does it? I recognize historical cycles of populism, nationalism, etc. But there’s no precedent for healing such deep societal fractures—rooted in class, culture, identity, ideology—when they’re reinforced 24/7 by polarized information diets and hyperconnected grievance crusades.

I don't think the fever will break.

It has become not about what is best for the country, It's all about one party winning and the other losing. It isn't about us all winning. Both sides are to blame
Both are blinded by their allegiance to their party.

The thing is that Trump is a fake populist. He doesn't care about the common people vs. the elite.

How do we know this?

1. He has always aspired to live and play with the elite.

2. His tax bill was a gift to the elite and a bone to the commoners.

3. He still only mingles with the elite. His cabinet is a swamp--as big as swamp creatures come.

4. He spends as much time away from the WH and at luxury properties as possible--he does not mix with commoners.

Trump is no populist. He is a manipulator of those commoners who have fallen for his populist spiel.

Think it is difficult to fool people? Watch 'American Greed'--people will hand over all of their money to those they think care about them and promise them the world. Then they are totally shocked (and broke) after the con artist is busted or flees.

I think Jeff Flake is a wild-eyed optimist.

The divide in this nation is vast and the tRump regime is only making it worse.
