Let's not stop your little story at the ( verdict ) what happened after the verdict , a week of some of the (Worst Rioting) in the history of the United States of America.

See here's the deal when African-American see overt racism and bias they become extremely frustrated and may riot , not me but (some) AA .That verdict was a slap in the face of the Los Angela's African American Community shouting from the mountains tops you won't get any justice Today AA.

LoL.. "my little story" what? Geez, I was simply agreeing with RJ312 about how a change of venue can definitely effect a verdict. I was surprised the defense got that trial moved to Simi Valley of all places. BTW, I've lived in Los Angeles all my life. A downtown jury would have convicted those cops.

Well, her attorney finally filed a notice of appeal.

The notice does not specify the basis of a possible argument for appeal.

It is a standard thing they do, does not mean anything really. It is just to reserve the right to appeal is all.

The deal is too many seeing overt racism in too many things. As if the victim being black had anything to do with it. Explain what it's called when law enforcement violates the rights of a white person? Doing the exact same thing with the only difference being the color of the victims skin. Explain what that's called.

The rioters, rioted because they wanted to steal and get free things. Since when do people riot against those who had absolutely nothing to do with the verdict? The rioters were nothing more than opportunistic savages.

The verdict was a slap in the face to all those who care about the rights of the individual being violated. Nothing to do with skin color.

Interesting development

https://www.dallasnews.com/news/cour...-john-creuzot/

Quote:
A visiting judge ruled Friday that state District Judge Tammy Kemp won’t oversee the contempt charge she filed against Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot at the conclusion of the Amber Guyger murder trial.

Robert Brotherton, a retired state district judge from Wichita Falls, said another judge will oversee the contempt case involving comments Creuzot made despite Kemp’s gag order in the Guyger case. Brotherton also tossed out a ruling by Kemp that the district attorney’s office couldn’t work on the contempt case.

But Brian Wice, Creuzot’s personal attorney, said in court that the DA’s office will voluntarily recuse itself because prosecutors would have a conflict in prosecuting their boss.

When the Rodney King LA riots started it was African-American pulling whites out of cars and beating them , it had nothing to do with financial gain for the rioters.....

By the way African Americans (White Caucasian) and (Latinos) rioted in the Rodney King Riots not just (blacks)....

Except for all the ones who were recorded looting. To say otherwise is absurd. Are you actually going to say that there wasn't looting? hahahaha

How long Amber stays in prison may depend on Botham Jean's family.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...on/3858908002/

Quote:
It’s much too early to tell how the Jean family might react in five years, but the message of forgiveness from Botham’s younger brother, Brandt, in delivering his victim impact statement Wednesday was downright moving.

Making it clear he was speaking for himself, not necessarily his relatives, Brandt declined to chastise Guyger and instead offered his forgiveness.

“I wasn’t going to ever say this in front of my family or anyone, but I don’t even want you to go to jail,’’ said Brandt Jean, who, at 18, is 10 years younger than Botham would have been now. “I want the best for you.’’

Here I am, a little late. Watched some of the trial last week, (re-run on court t/v). Amber answered, "yes," when asked during her testimony, if she intended to kill whoever was in her apartment.

This tragic shooting is why I think the training of police officers, to be killing machines is so wrong. Trigger happy. Why not shoot the perceived perpetrator in the leg, or use other means?

Still, in watching some of the trial, I was struck by Amber's complete lack of her senses. I am wondering now if she took a pill or had a drink, on the way home. She was not a space cadet. She seems to be a smart lady, that made a horrible tragic mistake. I do think she needed to pay for her crime, even though it was a mistaken event. None of her senses seem to kick in. She was like a robot, that boyfriend of hers could not have had that much power over her. Sexting.

I also wonder, since she was molested at a very young age, if she should have been a police officer.

The jury got it right, JMO. What if that would have been her apartment, her mom or someone else could have been waiting for her.
