That's how the feds work. You get charged with something that you have to plead guilty to, regardless of the actual case against you, because the penalty for not doing that is simply to large if you are later convicted.
How this looks to at least half the nation is like a politically corrupt and undemocratic strong arming of a democratically elected administration.
That's going to have very long and sharp political ripples for decades to come. I'm not so sure how much you have to celebrate, either for personal political gain or the resulting state of our democracy in a much lower trust civic environment.
After all, lower civic trust is essentially what led to Donald Trump's election in the first place. Think on that.

Actually, more than half of the nation is fine with Mueller's investigation. Only 30% believe Trump over Mueller. And we know who those 30% are, present company included. The fact that so many have plead guilty and are in cooperation agreements with Mueller speaks volumes.
